Before break, Mrs. Segatto’s 4th grade class had a special visit from Ms. Hale, our district’s Teacher for the Visually Impaired!
Ms. Hale talked with students about how vision works, what can happen when our eyes don’t work the way they should, and how the eyes and brain don’t always work in perfect sync. Students also got to explore some of the tools she uses, including Braille materials and assistive devices. Students even learned how to spell their names in Braille using M&Ms!
It was a fun, hands-on experience and a meaningful lesson that helped build understanding, curiosity, and empathy. 💙

💙✨ Building Inclusion, Empathy, and Community ✨💙
We are incredibly proud of our 4th and 5th graders for embracing the spirit of inclusion and empathy through their participation in Adaptive Physical Education (A.P.E.) during GAP time. By supporting their peers in A.P.E., students are gaining meaningful, first-hand experience in seeing beyond differences and recognizing that, regardless of communication styles or varying abilities, we are all far more alike than different!

Our 9–12 grade Introduction to Business students recently took a field trip to GCC, where they actively participated in a virtual business trade fair. Students had the opportunity to network with peers, pitch their business ideas, and make new connections with students from districts across the GLOW region.
Our students did a fantastic job representing our school and showcasing their GO BLUE traits as they practiced public speaking, professionalism, and networking outside of our building. We’re proud of the way they stepped up and rose to the challenge!

Second graders are practicing their vocabulary by acting out words! Students secretly chose a word, and the class had to guess what the word was. Second graders showed lots of BRAVERY when acting out words and EXCELLENCE in their explanations of how actions fit particular words. Keep up the great work, team!

🔬⚓ Science on Seneca! ⚓🔬
Our AP Chemistry and AP Physics students recently set sail on the research vessel R/V William Scandling for the Science on Seneca field trip! Throughout the day, they collected real environmental data, analyzed water chemistry, and explored how physics and chemistry interact to shape our local ecosystems.
It was an incredible hands-on learning experience!

🎭✨ Our English 10 Honors students have been diving into Shakespeare! ✨🎭
They just wrapped up reading A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and they had an absolute blast with it!
Some of the photos show students storyboarding the action from Act 3, Scene 2, taking what they’ve read and stepping into the role of a director as they consider how to bring the scene to life for an audience. You’ll also see a picture of this year’s “cast” of the play, props and all!
It’s always exciting to see students engage creatively with classic literature!
