Congratulations to Ryan Kramer, Tim Chapman, Marley Grimsley, Kate Grimsley, Bree Wachholder, Margaret Crabb, Emily Lang, Megan Aradine, Noelle Hensler, Gianna Bucci, Sarah Linsner, and Ashlyn Schuster on this well-deserved milestone. We are grateful for all you do and look forward to your continued success at GCS!

We started the year with a Senior Sunrise and ended it with a Senior Sunset, creating a memorable bookend to an unforgettable year. Students spent the evening enjoying the beautiful weather, playing lawn games, signing yearbooks, and making lasting memories with friends.
As they prepare for their next chapter, we are proud of all they have achieved and excited for what lies ahead. 💙🎓🌅

Sixth-grade STEAM students recently put their engineering, design, and problem-solving skills to the test by creating remote-control battle bots using LEGO Technic components.
Each team had access to thousands of standard LEGO Technic pieces, including motors, frames, wheels, gears, and remote controls. To add another layer of strategy, specialty parts were auctioned off using classroom currency that students had earned in a previous unit by successfully completing Snap Circuit projects.
After designing, building, testing, and refining their creations, students faced off in an exciting balloon-popping competition where their custom battle bots competed head-to-head in the arena!

With a variety of activities to choose from, students had the chance to explore new interests, challenge themselves, and most importantly, have fun.
Thank you to everyone who helped make this special day possible. The smiles on our students' faces said it all!

This outstanding recognition is a testament to Addy's hard work and incredible performance throughout the year.
Congratulations, Addy, on an amazing achievement!

They wrapped up the evening with a relaxing campfire by the water and are looking forward to all the fun and memories still to come during the rest of their trip!

Congratulations to our students on an incredible performance and for representing our school community so well!
These special events gave some of our youngest students the chance to play games, share laughs, and have fun with our oldest students.
We love seeing these friendships and connections grow as students come together to smile, laugh, and enjoy time with one another!

Tonight, the Geneseo Central School District officially kicked off our Capital Improvement Project with a groundbreaking ceremony outside the high school gymnasium! 🚧🎉
Following the ceremony, our school officials were invited to tour the locker rooms, which are currently undergoing construction as part of the project.
We’re grateful for the continued support of our community as we invest in spaces that will benefit our students, staff, families, and community for years to come.
More details about the project can be found here: https://www.geneseocsd.org/page/capital-improvement-project-20232024

They were hard at work writing letters as we continue trying to solve the mystery of who their pen pal might be! The excitement and curiosity are growing with every letter they send!

Throughout the day, students participated in two assemblies and two writing workshops, where they had the chance to hear from one of their favorite authors about his books, writing process, and experiences as an author.
Many students shared that Gordon Korman is their favorite author, making the visit an especially meaningful and memorable experience. One of our students, Mira- his self-proclaimed number one fan- even had the honor of introducing him at the event!
It was truly a wonderful day celebrating reading, writing, and the joy of storytelling.

After watching and discussing advertising techniques, students became marketing experts. From baseball bats to Lays chips and VR headsets, these third graders are working together to type scripts and sell their chosen product to the rest of the class.
Prior to this final culminating project, students took a school tour and interviewed staff members to help brainstorm different ideas to propose to Ms. Neu and PTSA for improvement in the elementary building, composed a book recommendation and also wrote a letter to their parents asking for something (a trip/experience, pet or item).
This unit has provided many authentic writing opportunities as well as encouraged students to be creative along the way!

Students had the opportunity to enjoy a donut and drink with a family member, friend, or teacher before school on Friday, creating a fun and welcoming start to the day.
The event also included an exciting raffle featuring prizes from places such as Altitude, The Strong Museum of Play, YoBerry, and Aunt Cookies Sub Shop. Guests were also able to capture the memories thanks to Mrs. Segatto, who put her photography skills to work with a special photo opportunity for everyone in attendance.
Pastries with Peeps continues to be a favorite spring tradition that helps build positive connections between students, families, and staff. Thank you to everyone who helped make this year’s event such a success!
