Some of our sophomores recently completed their third worksite tour- this time visiting the Livingston County Sheriff’s Department.

Students explored careers in law enforcement and public safety while touring the facility and learning firsthand what it takes to serve in these roles. They were able to visit three of the department’s four divisions and, most importantly, build meaningful connections with professionals in the field.

Experiences like this continue to give our students valuable insight as they consider their future career paths.

We think some leprechauns may have paid us a visit this week! 🍀
They started by giving us a surprise day off on Tuesday, and then came back yesterday to play a few more tricks on our students.
We hope our students enjoyed the fun and a little bit of leprechaun mischief!

Our kindergartners have been busy learning about pairs that make ten!
To practice this important math skill, students have been playing a fun game called “Clumsy Thief Jr.” The game helps them recognize number pairs that add up to ten while working together and having fun.
Great work, kindergarten mathematicians!

At the elementary level, March is all about cooperation- working together to reach shared goals. Our second graders recently put that idea into action by collaborating to design their very own dream playgrounds!

Their creative designs included everything from ziplines and trampolines to water slides and rock walls. By working together and sharing ideas, students practiced cooperation while bringing their imaginative playgrounds to life.

Keep up the great work, second graders! 👏

Our 3rd grade mathematicians recently got a cheesy introduction to a new math area! 🧀

Using Cheez-Its as square units, students explored how area measures the space inside a shape. By arranging the crackers into different rectangles and shapes, they were able to see how counting square units helps determine area.

It was a fun and hands-on way to bring math concepts to life. Great work, third graders!

Some of our sophomores recently took part in their first worksite tour, visiting DP Tool, a metal manufacturing plant in Avon.

During the tour, students saw firsthand how a piece of raw metal material is transformed into finished products. They learned about the process of programming CNC machines and observed how precision parts- such as a differential casing for a Ford Raptor- are created.

Experiences like this give students a valuable look at real-world careers and the advanced technology used in modern manufacturing.

We want to thank Mrs. Harvey for making this possible. Her continued hard work and dedication in creating opportunities for our students to explore, experience, and learn about future career options is truly commendable. Her efforts open meaningful pathways for students to discover their interests and envision their futures with confidence. Our school community is stronger because of her commitment to expanding possibilities for every learner!

We’d like to share a wonderful example of the leadership, courage, and kindness our student-athletes demonstrate every day.

At the start of our first-round Sectional game against Pembroke, the sound system unexpectedly failed during the pregame announcements, leaving us unable to play the National Anthem. That's when Natalie C. quietly stepped out of the introduction line, walked over to the scorer’s table, and offered to help.

Without hesitation, and with no warm-up, Natalie stepped forward and beautifully sang the National Anthem a cappella. Her willingness to step up in the moment showed tremendous confidence and leadership, and it set a positive tone for the entire evening.

Natalie was later recognized for this moment with the Section V “Caught in the Act of Kindness” Award.

We are incredibly proud of Natalie and grateful for the example she set for our school community. Great job, Natalie!
