REMINDER: Tomorrow, March 15, we will be holding a Superintendent's Conference Day so there will be no school for students.
We hope you enjoy your extra day off!

This week, as we celebrate School Social Work Week, we want to extend a heartfelt thank you to Mrs. Hathaway, our incredible District Social Worker! Her unwavering dedication and support for our students make a world of difference every single day!

Over the weekend, the Genesee Valley School Music Association held its final weekend of All-County music festivals and we are proud to announce that 16 of our students were chosen to participate!
Eight of our 5th and 6th graders took part in the Elementary All-County Chorus, while eight of our senior high band students performed with the Senior High All-County Band!
A fun tradition was also held- with the "Vintage Profs" (a teacher band) opening the show for the final festival.
Great job everyone!

Our school spirit was on full display at our middle school and high school pep rallies, where we had some fun and highlighted our amazing winter sports teams!
As we head into February break, we hope you all have a fantastic time off!

Congratulations to our Geneseo/ Mount Morris Varsity bowling team for placing 2nd in sectionals yesterday! While the team came in second- they were only 3 pins away from placing first! Dominic LaPiana, Sean White, Matthew Neus, Daniel Neus, Riley Mantegna and Gianna LaPiana (as pictured) did an outstanding job through the tough day of 6-game match-play. Dom LaPiana received the high game award of 268 and all-tournament team award 1,237 series (6 games). Way to go, team!

Major congrats to our Lakers Boys Ski Team for dominating the slopes and bringing home the league championship over the weekend!

Due to a water main break at the school, Geneseo Central School will be dismissing all students today (1/24/24) at 10:30am. All students will be bussed to their home address unless an alternate emergency location has been specified. We apologize for the inconvenience and please reach out to the building offices if needed. All MSHS Midterms and Regents exams are cancelled for today (1/24/24).

Please note that there will be no MSHS ski club tomorrow, Thursday, January 4th, due to poor snow conditions and few trails open at Swain. The first trip will be next Thursday, January 11th.

On Monday, our seniors spent some time meeting and playing games with our kindergarteners!

The annual 'Shop with a Cop' event was a success! Thank you to SRO Hopper and the Geneseo Police Department for buying gifts and uplifting our community in times of need.
A special thanks to our community partners at Walmart for their participation as well.

A message from the Superintendent
Dear Geneseo Central School District Community,
Recently, a school in another state with a similar name to our district received non-credible bomb threats. Other schools across the region were also impacted, however, despite the similar sounding name, we were not.
Although we were not directly impacted, we would like to take this opportunity to remind our community how seriously we take student and staff safety. School Resource Officer Hopper has, and will continue to work diligently with the Geneseo Police Department and our safety consultant to ensure we are following all safety protocols to maintain a secure learning environment for all.
We understand these incidents can be unsettling, and we want to emphasize that our primary concern is always the safety and well-being of our students and staff.
We wanted to share this information with our school community as a precautionary measure to keep you informed and address any concerns. If you have questions or need further information, please do not hesitate to reach out to your building principal.
Thank you for your understanding, cooperation and continued support in maintaining a safe and secure educational environment for our students.
Sincerely,
Cindy Flowers
Superintendent of schools
