Officer Hopper recently stopped by Ms. Garratt’s fourth grade class to read a story about bullying. The students had great conversations and took part in a fun activity to go along with the story. What an awesome way to learn about kindness and respect! 💙
Our second graders are hard at work sorting words! They’re learning spelling patterns for the long “o” sound by sorting words and recording their sorts in their writing notebooks. Keep up the great work, second grade! 👏💙

Our 4th graders took part in the One Word Project, inspired by the book “One Word” by Jon Gordon, Dan Britton, and Jimmy Page. Each student chose one powerful word to guide them through the year — words like Kind, Creative, Grateful, Win, and Wild. This project encourages students to focus on positivity, purpose, and personal growth all year long!

💙 A Heartwarming Blue Devil Moment! 💙
If you’ve been to one of our soccer games, you might recognize Henry- a first grader affectionately known by many as our very own “Baby Blue Devil.”
Henry proudly cheers on his older brother Brennon, a senior on the varsity soccer team, always decked out head-to-toe in his Blue Devil gear. He’s a true fan through and through!
Last night was extra special- it was the first time Henry got to meet the real Blue Devil mascot! His face lit up as he ran over to show off his horns and outfit, and the two posed together for the sweetest photo. 💙

💙👑 GO BLUE! Second graders in Ms. Hensler’s class recently had a blast creating their very own Go Blue crowns to celebrate an amazing first month of school! These students have already shown so much grit, optimism, bravery, leadership, understanding, and excellence—we’re so proud of them!

💙 Students in Mrs. Serfass and Mrs. Buchbinder’s class have been hard at work on their All About Me presentations. Recently, they presented them to their peers—showing grit and bravery as they shared their stories. We’re so proud of our amazing 5th graders—GO BLUE!

One activity was inspired by The Very Hungry Caterpillar, where students practiced putting the letters of their names in the correct order. Earlier in September, they worked on fine motor skills by ripping and gluing paper to create their names. And of course, we couldn’t forget a proud moment—one of our students showing off an amazing structure built with magnet tiles!
We love seeing the creativity, growth, and excitement happening each day in kindergarten! 💙

📚 Each summer, our 1st–4th grade students at GCS get to borrow a bookbag filled with books of their choice to enjoy during break. This year, those who read every single one of their books were entered into a drawing for a Scholastic poster—and we’re excited to share that over 20 lucky winners were selected!
