Please join us in congratulating Courtney Hathaway on her well-deserved nomination for Social Worker of the Year! 🌟 Courtney is one of just seven outstanding individuals recognized in the GVBOCES region for their dedication and excellence.
Her unwavering commitment to students and families, coupled with her passion for fostering student and school success, are just a few of the many reasons we are so fortunate to have her on our GCSD team.

Before the break, our 2nd grade students took part in a very special learning experience! They explored the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and then brought the magic to life by hosting their own parade through the school! 🎈✨
The students worked hard creating their own colorful balloons, and the excitement was contagious as they marched through the halls. A fantastic way to learn and celebrate!

The Geneseo Garden Club visited today to lead their annual holiday ornament design workshop with our 3rd graders.
The creative students made beautiful ornaments that will help decorate the village tree!

Over the past few weeks, our high school “Big Blue” peer mentors have been hard at work training and preparing to meet their “Little Blue” elementary students! 💙
The first peer mentor sessions will begin the first week of December, and these awesome pairs will continue to meet once a week through April.
We can’t wait to see the connections, growth, and impact these incredible mentors will have on their “Littles” this school year.

The Girl Scouts are organizing a Red Cross Blood Drive on Monday, December 2nd from 3-7pm in the STEAM lab in the back of the school. Schedule your appointment today at redcrossblood.org or by calling 1-800-RED CROSS.

🇺🇸 Today, GCS continued our beloved tradition of honoring local veterans with a heartfelt Veterans Day ceremony. Our students had the special opportunity to meet veterans, sing patriotic songs, attend a flag-raising ceremony, and hear powerful stories of service. Later, middle and high school students spent time with the veterans, asking questions and gaining insights about their experiences. We're so grateful to our veterans for their service and for spending this meaningful day with us!

Our National Junior Honor Society is currently running a food drive for the Geneseo/Groveland Food Pantry. We are accepting non-perishable foods and also personal hygiene products. The food drive runs until December 12th and there are collection boxes in the foyer at the main entrance. All donations are greatly appreciated.

Our amazing 3rd graders embraced the traditions of Día de los Muertos by sharing their family stories and creating beautiful ofrendas in class.
Students had the opportunity to explore and appreciate each other's creations, learning about the significance behind the colorful decorations and offerings.
