The Geneseo Central School District has once again been recognized for its dedication to music education, earning the Best Communities for Music Education (BCME) Award from The NAMM Foundation for the fourth consecutive year.
Now in its 27th year, the BCME program highlights school districts and individual schools across the United States that demonstrate commitment to ensuring students have access to high-quality music education. The designation reflects not only strong programs, but also a continued focus on providing access to music learning as part of a well-rounded education.
The award reaches K–12 communities nationwide, offering both recognition and encouragement to sustain and grow music education programs. In 2026, more than 1,000 schools and districts—including public, private, charter, and parochial institutions—were honored for their achievements.
Recipients are selected through a rigorous application and review process that examines key factors such as funding, instructional time, participation rates, facilities, and community support.
Geneseo CSD’s continued recognition underscores the district’s strong commitment to fostering music education opportunities for all students and maintaining a vibrant, supportive learning environment.
We want to congratulate our Music Department and our students for earning this recognition, and thank our community members for their continued support of our music programs!
