Anna Levy

The Geneseo Central School District is proud to announce that senior Anna Levy was recognized by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation.

The NMSC named Levy as a “Commended Student” for its 2024 program. She is one of 34,000 students across the nation recognized for exceptional academic promise.

Geneseo Middle/High School Principal Mike Salatel nominated Levy for her hard work at GCS.

“The Geneseo school community is very proud of Anna's special accomplishment,” Salatel said. “Anna's pursuit for academic excellence is highly commendable. She enrolls in the most rigorous courses offered at GCS and always performs at the highest level. We are confident that Anna will continue to be recognized for many special awards in the future.”

Commended Students placed among the top 50,000 students who entered the scholarship awards by taking the PSAT or NMSC qualifying test. Although Commended Students are no longer in competition for National Merit Scholarships, some may be candidates for other scholarships offered by its corporate sponsors.

“These students represent a valuable national resource; recognizing their accomplishments, as well as the key role their schools play in their academic development, is vital to the advancement of educational excellence in our nation,” a NMSC spokesperson said. “We hope that this recognition will help broaden their educational opportunities and encourage them as they continue their pursuit of academic success.”
