Geneseo Central School District students and staff are celebrating the graduating class of 2023 as the seniors prepare for graduation.
The annual senior walk tradition was held on June 13. Students and staff lined the Geneseo Elementary School hallways from the cafeteria, to the first grade wing and fourth grade classrooms.
Seniors were dressed in their cap and gowns and were met with applause as they walked around the school.
Middle and High School Principal Michael Salatel, shared that the tradition brought happiness and many smiles to the seniors.
“It was a special recognition for the wonderful journey the students have been on throughout their years at GCS,” Salatel said. “ Hopefully, the event also encourages younger students to make a commitment to learning and feel a sense of belonging at GCS.”
Graduation is scheduled for 11 a.m. June 24 at SUNY Geneseo's Union Ballroom.
