| GOAL #1: Continue to promote academic excellence for all students by: · Enhancing and integrating literacy within all academic disciplines using a variety of instructional strategies and increasing early intervention supports and services. · Developing and implementing local assessments and utilizing data analysis of local and state assessments to inform instruction in support of student reading, writing, speaking and listening. · Providing formalized intervention practices within the District. Improving Academic Intervention Services (AIS) programming and instruction is a key component of this goal. · Increasing the quality and quantity of course offerings for the high school. Exploring course options from Advanced Placement and area colleges. | Goal #2: Support Outstanding Instructional and Non-instructional Personnel by: · Providing high quality professional development opportunities that support and guide all staff members at GCS. · Utilizing effective teachers as coaches and mentors. · Recruiting diverse staff members not currently represented on the GCS school staff. |
| Goal #3: Manage the Policies and Programs of the District by: · Developing and implementing a K-12 Heath Education Program. · Continuing improvements in the services and operations of the cafeteria. Increasing the number of lunches sold will be an important component of this goal. · Establishing a regular communication schedule on the Board agenda so that the administrators and content specialists can report to the Board of Education on topics to include: student achievement, professional development, intervention strategies, and other educational topics. · Updating the safety and disaster plans of the District. | Goal #4: Improve Communications with the Community by: · Communicating clear and explicit District goals to the school community. · Increasing community awareness of K-12 programs and activities for students and staff. · Highlighting the success and achievement of students and staff through District publications and the local news media. · Identifying key stakeholders inside and outside the District who can help disseminate and provide information on a variety of topics, including Project II. · Providing differentiated communication to different community groups based on their needs and involvement. · Continuing collaboration with town, village, and college for integrated use of our facilities. |
