Welcome to the Office of Curriculum and Instruction for the 2010-11 school year! We are looking forward to a successful year working with the students and families in our school district.  Our number one priority at Geneseo is that we meet the diverse needs of all students in order for them to achieve success.  That means creating a positive climate, knowing all our students as learners, using ongoing assessments to check for understanding, and using varied instructional strategies and curriculum approaches in order to help our students meet and exceed the New York State Standards. 

Throughout the coming year there will be updates on this page in regard to the changes in the NYS Assessments that our students will be taking in grades 3-8 in ELA and mathematics. The link at the bottom of this page will allow you to view a letter that was sent home to parents of students entering 4th through 9th grade.  This letter explains some of the most recent changes that the state has made in regard to proficiency levels and "cut scores" on the grade 3-8 exams.  The state will be sending out Individual Student Reports (ISR's) in early September that will be mailed home as soon as we receive them. 

Please refer to the links on the side of this page to gather any additional information that you may be interested in.  This webpage will be updated on a regular basis and will hopefully serve as a resource for all who visit this site.  If you have any questions about the instructional programs or curriculum at Geneseo, please do not hesitate to contact me.
